We stayed here for 4 nights and had 3 full days Safari. The staff were lovely, particularly Sultani who looked after us so well in the camp and our safari guide Maaruf who was a fountain of knowledge and an excellent driver. Chef catered for one vegetarian and one gluten free – a real bonus (you must request in advance!) Rooms are good, clean with everything you need. Social dining area with bar and lovely views over the Rufiji river. We were there on Christmas Eve and they put on a great show – local village band and Masai warriors. Things to be aware of – bring US dollars as you can only pay in cash. Thank you for a fantastic stay – we absolutely loved our first safari experience!

“I have wanted to go on a safari for years. We stayed in this camp for 4 nights. All the staff were fantastic. They welcomed us when we arrived. We had a deluxe tent with a double bed and a single bed as we took my mum with us for her 80th birthday. Unfortunate we did have quite a lot of rain when we were there, but that didn’t spoil it for us, it made it more fun. We had Steven who was our guide. He was brilliant and wanted to make sure we saw everything. He was really good with my mum, as when we were on the walking safari it was quite slippery, so he held her hand. My husband and I managed to slip over. Our waiter was Sultani who was lovely and really took care of us.”

Prior to life before children we have visited some amazing places in Africa. Our teenage daughter animal mad Brogan wanted to do safari. I can actually say this stay was the most authentic experience of Africa that we absolutely loved. Not only did our hosts ensure we had amazing service but we were so made to feel welcome and part of the camp. A special mention has to go to Francis our guide not only did he share his amazing knowledge but he ensured we had every opportunity to explore and see the wildlife. Even on the last day of searching for elephants we were then so fortunate to see the elephants crossing the road on our way back to the village. The one week old baby elephant made my daughters holiday. Even though the camp is outside the reserve it gives you a great opportunity to see the village on the way home. We spent half a day visiting the village which included the school and hospital and met some great people. It was a real privilege ! A big hug to everyone at Selous Kulinda Camp you made our holiday so memorable. We wish you all well.
